Get those closed doors ready.

The big lawsuit is over, as Cloud Imperium Games and Crytek have apparently come to settlement terms over their ongoing lawsuit.

Crytek brought suit against Cloud Imperium Games and Roberts Space Industries over allegations that the latter breached their contract. CIG’s long-delayed title Star Citizen and its spinoff Squadron 42 was originally intended to be developed on Crytek’s engine only for CIG to move development over to Amazon’s Lumberyard engine which is essentially just a version of the Cryengine.

The two sides have been battling over claims that Star Citizen is contractually obligated to use the Cryengine and other issues including the use of Cryengine logos on the Star Citizen website/game, as well as differences of opinion on whether Squadron 42 constitutes a different product and if/when Star Citizen actually changed engines.

“Pursuant to C.D. Cal. L.R. 40-2, Plaintiff CRYTEK GMBH and Defendants CLOUD IMPERIUM GAMES CORP. and ROBERTS SPACE INDUSTRIES CORP., by and through their counsel of record, hereby notify the Court that they have reached an agreement in principle of terms to settle this action in its entirety and are working to document the terms of their agreement. Following execution of the agreement, the parties will promptly file a joint stipulation of dismissal. The parties respectfully request that the Court allow the parties thirty (30) days to document and execute their agreement and to file the joint stipulation of dismissal.”

Now Star Citizen can release without any problems. Right? Anyone?
